Founder of Al-Hikmah University Donates to Kwara State Education Trust Fund, Supports Top National Students and More
August 11, 2025With the gracious assent of His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the 2nd Amendment to the Kwara State Education Trust Fund (KwaraETF) Law is now in effect – deepening our collective commitment to transparency, inclusion, and sustainability in education funding.
The composition of the Board has evolved to further reflect community and stakeholder engagement, now including representatives from the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), civil society organisations (CSOs), and the private sectors (Kwara Central).
The amendment also refines the roles and responsibilities of the Board-shifting the submission of the Fund’s annual budget to His Excellency for review and approval, and enhancing operational efficiency by realigning certain functions.
Other Key provisions include: a renewable 5-year term for the Executive Secretary, Board autonomy over allowances, a quorum of five (including the Executive Secretary), the ability to directly employ staff, and the power to appoint external auditors.
These changes represent a thought recalibration of the Fund’s governance-positioning KwaraETF to better deliver on its mandate of ensuring sustainable, equitable, and high-impact investment in education across the state.
