Abdulwahab Ademola Lawal served in the Nigerian Army Infantry for 22 year and retired in 1995. He served in many capacities both on staff and command. He also served in United Nations Peacekeeping Operations in Iran-Iraq military Observer Group in 1988-99 and ECOMOG 1992-1994. He was awarded United Nations Medal for Peace in 1989.
