KWARAETF BOARD RETREAT CHARTS BOLD PATH FOR SUSTAINABLE EDUCATION FINANCING.
April 27, 2026Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Friday, April 10, 2026, held the inaugural meeting of the State Security Strategy Committee, a high-level body comprising distinguished Kwara-born retired military generals and senior security officials.
The committee, chaired by retired Major General GA Wahab, includes Maj. Gen. Yemi Abidoye; Maj. Gen. Abubakar Ndalolo; Rear Admiral Aliyu Lawal; Air Commodore ASA Buhari; AIG Aderemi Opadokun; and Lt. Col. Abdulwahab Ademola Lawal, with Permanent Secretary (General Services), Shuaib Abdulganiyu (FCIA), serving as Secretary.
Colonel Abdulwahab Ademola Lawal (Rtd), PhD, psc, FIMC, Chairman of the Kwara State Education Trust Fund (KwaraETF), is a member of the committee, reflecting a deliberate integration of security planning with the state’s education transformation agenda.
This is a strategic signal.
As Kwara accelerates investments in school infrastructure, digital learning, and system-wide reforms through KwaraETF, safeguarding schools and learning environments is no longer peripheral — it is central. The presence of the KwaraETF Chairman on the committee underscores a clear policy stance: protecting education is foundational to securing the future of the state.
Through this alignment, Kwara is positioned to:
- Strengthen the safety of schools and learning spaces
- Protect critical education investments across communities
- Reinforce human capital development through stability and security
The committee’s work is expected to drive a more coordinated, intelligence-led approach to securing lives, communities, and key public institutions — including schools.
This marks a decisive step in Kwara’s broader vision: building not just better schools, but safer systems that enable learning, growth, and long-term prosperity.
