CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST: CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR LAFIAGI SECONDARY SCHOOL

Needs Assessment, proposed Design and Bill of Quantities

The Kwara State Education Trust Fund (KwaraETF) invites qualified and registered built-environment professionals and multidisciplinary consultancy firms to submit Expressions of Interest for the provision of professional consultancy services for Lafiagi Secondary School in Lafiagi, Kwara State.

Established in 1970, Lafiagi Secondary School is the pioneer secondary school in the Lafiagi Emirate. This engagement is an important first step towards developing a comprehensive, technically informed and costed plan for improving the school’s infrastructure and learning environment.

Scope of the Assignment 

The selected consultant will undertake a comprehensive assessment of the school’s existing infrastructure and facilities, identify gaps and priority needs, and develop preliminary improvement designs and a detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ).

The assignment will Cover:

• Site Inspection and Needs Assessment: Assessment and documentation of existing classrooms, administrative buildings, laboratories, libraries, toilets, water supply, drainage, electrical installations, furniture and other facilities.
• Infrastructure Gap Analysis: Identification of structural defects, safety concerns, rehabilitation needs and requirements for construction, replacement or upgrading.
  •Preliminary Design and Concept Plan: Development of proposed school improvement designs, layouts and relevant preliminary drawings.
• Bill of Quantities and Cost Estimates: Preparation of a professionally measured and itemized BOQ, including materials, labour and associated costs.
• Technical Reporting: Submission of a consolidated report detailing existing conditions, identified needs, recommended interventions, proposed designs and estimated project costs, with prioritised recommendations where practical.

Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants include qualified individual professionals, multidisciplinary consultancy firms and lead consultants with the capacity to coordinate the required technical expertise.

The assignment requires expertise in: 

• Architecture
• Quantity Surveying
• Civil/Structural Engineering

Applicants must possess relevant professional qualifications, current registration with applicable professional bodies and demonstrable experience in similar assignments.
